Religious life is a journey in which the heart learns to sense God’s footsteps.
On Saturday morning, May 18, 2024, hundreds gathered at Mount Carmel Ashram, in Peravoor, to witness the Mass of Profession of Solemn Vows of our four brothers. The solemn Eucharistic liturgy was officiated by the Provincial of Malabar Province, Rev. Fr Peter Chakiath, who also received our brothers’ solemn vows.
The church gladly celebrated this significant event, as Bros. Chacko Moolekattil, George Parackal, Joseph Muttathu, and Matthew Kanivelil committed their entire lives to God. After years of study, prayer, discernment, and fulfilling the vows of poverty, obedience, and chastity, the brothers have placed their faith in love and the call of Jesus Christ Crucified—the sole focus of their minds and hearts.
Making the final vows is a “Fiat” given freely with full awareness and responsibility by the brothers who desire to belong to God forever in the consecrated life. The mass was attended by dozens of priests and religious from our own congregation and nearby religious communities.
Numerous family members as well as colleagues and friends of the solemnly professed brothers, joined in the event. The celebration finished with a reception in the auditorium, providing an opportunity for everyone to reflect not only on the delight of fully receiving our solemnly professed, but also on their personal travels.
