With great joy and solemnity, Dn. Thomas (Kiran) Olickal was ordained to the sacred priesthood on 10 May 2025 at Lourde Matha Church, Aruvikuzhy. The ordination ceremony was presided over by His Grace Mar Thomas Tharayil, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Arch Eparchy of Changanassery.
Fr. Peter Chakiath OCD, Provincial of the Malabar Province, served as the Archdeacon during the celebration. Fr. Varghese Chittuparambil, Rector of the Theology College, was also present, adding to the spiritual significance of the occasion.
The faithful were warmly welcomed by Fr. Jacob Cheeramvelil, the parish priest of Lourde Matha Church.
In his homily, the Archbishop emphasized the sacredness and the immense responsibility of the priestly vocation. He reminded the congregation that a priest is a channel of God’s grace and is called to be holy and vigilant in fulfilling his ministry.
The celebration was graced by the presence of numerous priests, religious, and a large gathering of the faithful, along with the family and dear ones of the newly ordained priest. It was a moment of grace and thanksgiving for the entire Church.
