OCD Malabar Province is the first Indian Province of the Discalced Carmelite Order founded by St. Teresa of Avila, the first woman Doctor of the Church and great teacher of prayer, and St. John of the Cross, the Doctor of the Church and mystic of mystics. The greatest contribution of these Saints is the rediscovery of the contemplative identity of the Church, the realization of which, they proved, can empower the Church to meet with any crisis at any point in history of the Church.
